You can’t visit beijing without trying Peking duck so head to Qianmen, a famous pedestrian street for eating and sightseeing. Located behind Tiananmen square, it consists of a gate tower, archery tower and archway. It was originally called Zhengyangmen Street during the Ming dynasty and has a history of more than 570 years. The historic Dangdangche (trams) were first introduced to Beijing in 1924 are a great way of sightseeing the Qing dynasty architecture of the buildings.
Our first stop was Quanjude was first established in 1864 at Qianmen. With 156 years of history serving Peking duck , it has now expanded to over 50 stores in China.
Around the corner is Siji Minfu Restaurant Peking Roast Duck 四季民福烤鸭店 which has more of a classic and local vibe.This chain is popular with locals and tourists alike line up out the door for their authentic duck, expertly roasted so that the skin shatters while the flesh remains tender.
