Daxing Airport

DAXING AIRPORT is located 50km south from Beijing and takes 19mins by high-speed train. It was designed by Zaha Hadid and looks like a giant six-armed alien starfish. The terminal building is over 1,000,000 square meters in size the size of 100 football pitches making it the largest single-building airport terminal in the world The domestic and international terminals are stacked on top of each other, so you never have to walk more than 10 minutes ( from the core to the furthest gate in each wing.Inside the core, an expansive, rolling atrium is supported by eight giant C-shaped pillars, each with a 350-foot wide skylight at the top.

Beijing's new airport is designed to handle 300 takeoffs and landings per hour. It will be capable of handling 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and It is expected to become the busiest airport in the world. It took 5 years from construction to operation and Cost approximately US$12 billion to build.

Interesting feautres include automated checkin, facial recognition and quality entertainment with restaurants and shopping.
