Yong Xing Fang 永兴坊 is known for its amazing street food and hand-made noodles. Biang Biang noodles (面) is one of my favourite dishes. With 58 strokes, one of the most complicated chinese characters. The hand-pulled noodles are very thick and long, usually served with eggs, tomatoes and beef. Invented in 200 BC, Rou Jia Mo 肉夹馍 is the world’s oldest hamburger with stewed pork inside pita bread.The famous Yang Rou Pao Mo 羊肉泡馍 is made from crumbled pieces of bread soaked in lamb soup with noodles. You can never have an empty stomach in Xi’An, there is delicious food around every corner.
Hua Shan 华山
Hua Shan is one of Taoism's Five Great Mountains standing at 2160 high. It’s beautiful five peaks with dramatic and breathtaking cliff faces look like something straight from watercolour painting.
It has one of the most dangerous hiking trails in the world because of its steepness and narrow passes.
Yang Ling Mausoleum 汉阴陵
Yang Ling Mausoleum is a joint tomb of Liu Qi, a notable emperor of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-24AD), and his empress Wang. Built in the year 153 AD it’s a magnificent and abundant cultural relic comprising the emperor's tomb & empress' tomb, the south and north burial pits and ceremonial site.
QianLing Mausoleum 乾陵
The QianLing Mausoleum is located on the summit of Liangshan Hill. The site covers an area of 2.3 square kilometers including the tomb of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu Zetian, the Sacrifice Hall, a Hall of Ministers and a corridor lined with stone animals.
FaMen Temple Cultural Scenic Area Site 法门寺文化景区
The Famen Temple is a holy buddhist site built to house the veritable Finger Bone of the Sakyamuni Buddha. Covering an area of about 86,667 square meters,the cultural scenic area comprises four sectors including the Temple Gate Square, Foguang Avenue, Famen Temple, and the Namaste Dagoba.
Xi’an is definitely one of my favourite cities with its rich chinese history, amazing food and literally breathtaking scenery.
